Introduction to EV3 Robotics (Grades 4 – 8)

Campers will learn how to build and program autonomous robots using LEGO™ EV3™ robots and MINDSTORMS™ Education Software. Participants in this weeklong session will get instruction and hands-on practice with activities that will allow them to build and program robots. Campers will get information, tips, and ideas on how to enhance their team competition experiences and work in small teams to promote FIRST© Lego League’s signature set of Core Values.

Utilizing the 5E Instructional Model as a framework for lesson design, teachers will delve into the new Louisiana Student Standards for Science focusing on the practice of science, the 5E Instructional Model, and how to help students develop models to explain scientific phenomena. Arduino Microcomputer Programming (Grades 6-11)

Core Element’s Hands-On STEM Arduino Camp will take a in-depth look into electrical engineering and hardware code to pursue automation using the Arduino electrical engineering prototyping platform. Campers will use controllers to operate lights, motors and LEDs, and then test engineering skills in a series of competitive challenges to discover how engineering and programming work together to make new and exciting inventions a reality.
